The Hospital Scene (To the other side)

Through the room window he sees his cousin laying motionless on the hospital bed. With a nervous hesitancy he slowly pushes the door open. The dark silence is corrupted by the flashing beeps of the life support machine. Walking ever so cautiously to his cousin's bedside, thoughts of the accident ruminate, reminding him that this was all his fault. He continually tells himself that he should be the one laying there in a coma and not the innocent passenger of the brand new car that he just had to show off. But that was the past and the only thing that can be done in the present is to ensure his cousin's prosperous and fulfilling future. Wiping the tears from his eyes and taking one more glance at the seemingly peaceful figure that lay before him, he reaches into his pocket, pulls out a pill bottle and pops it open. With redemption on his mind, he swallows the entire contents of the bottle. 

All goes black. As light gradually consumes darkness, Kevin finds himself in a scene resembling an old film noir movie set. The mist clears and the blurred visions solidify, revealing a musty black and white street corner. Walking amidst the unknown metropolis' looming skyscrapers and many abandoned storefronts, he feels an eerie presence following close by. In attempts to catch his follower off guard, he quickly spins around. Surprised to see nothing behind him, he turns back around to see an undiscovered animal species towering over him. In the creature's grasp is his cousin, squirming and yelling. “Help!”
Pushing the fear aside Kevin replies. ”I am here, Ray. I won't fail you this time!”
A sudden sense of strength and bravery begins to surge throughout his body, enveloping him within a golden forcefield. The remaining percentage of his brain power quickly grows and as Kevin and his cousin's dreamworld overlord face off, the nightmare now truly begins.

Will Kevin be able to save his dying cousin? Is the bond they share strong enough for Kevin to wake his kin from his coma? Is his subconscious strong enough to endure their combined dreamworld's monstrous obstacles? And if he does succeed in awakening his cousin, will he wake up himself? Or is this redemption his ultimate sacrifice? Also, upon the conclusion of this initial adventure, what lies ahead for Kevin in the world of dreams. Stayed tuned for more.

Synopsis

Eighteen year old Kevin Johnson crashed his car and while he walked away from the accident unharmed, the car's passenger (his cousin Ray) is put into a coma. His guilty conscience has prompted him into making the most drastic decision of his life, killing himself in order to save his cousin. Now thrusted into the very dreamworld that his reckless driving has trapped his cousin in, Kevin will have to summon his inner warrior to defeat these Demons in order to bring the two lost souls out of their extended sleep and back into the realm of the living.
